Mothers Day

On the second Sunday each year in Australia is a special day that celebrates our Mothers. Each mothers’ day families honour their mums by giving them a break from their normal reutines or giving gifts.

The free internet encyclopedia Wikipedia has a good definition of the term Mother.

The term mother also refers to a person with stereotypical traits of a mother such as nurturing and other-centredness.

Familiar or colloquial terms for the word mother in Australia are mum or mummy.

As we say on this special day of celebrating our mums, “Happy Mothers’ Day!”
