Currently in Australia there are only a few main political parties who run most of the countries goverments and councils. At present there is around 40 political parties on the Current List of Political Parties in Australia.
Apart from these main groups/parties who all have a differing amount of electoral support, Australians also have and vote for many individual candidates who are known as “independents”.

The Country Fire Authority is better known by locals as the CFA. Their brigades respond to a range of different incidents and their broader activities include community education and fire investigation.
It is one of the world”s largest volunteer-based emergency services. There are around 58,000 volunteer members supported by over 400 career fire fighters and officers and more than 700 career support and administrative staff.
